We’re going to introduce a new weekly blog here on Barstool Sports. It will feature Greenie and I arguing about power rankings. I’m hoping to open it up having Stoolies involved too in a voting fashion. But, this blog will come out once a week – likely every Monday recapping the week and where we think teams are sitting within the NBA as a whole. I mean, what else do a Knicks and Celtics fan have in common besides not winning the title this year and a love for the NBA?

Biggest Differences: New Orleans Pelicans (Reags: 9, Greenie: 12), Utah Jazz (Reags: 14, Greenie: 20), Memphis Grizzlies (Reags: 12, Greenie: 8)

Reags: Finally everyone is starting to agree that this Clippers team is, well, good. I’ve been on this train from the get go. Part of it is the love for Boban and part of it is just seeing how they have sort of the Raptors build from last year in terms of that dynamic bench. Sure, they don’t have a star, but they have quality depth and continue to just outscore teams with the bench too. Philly is starting to rise for me as well with the addition of Jimmy Butler. They have 3 legit stars and while shooting can be a question mark, Butler is making sure to hit big shot after big shot. Then how about the Grizzlies? Jaren Jackson has exceeded the hype and is a legit ROY candidate. Getting Conley and Gasol healthy has been important as well, but this is shocking to see them take this jump through 6 weeks. Oh, don’t look now but the Magic are leading their division. There’s a chance that they can take advantage of this with the division being down. I still question the lineup and talent, but if they keep winning they’ll find themselves in the top-15 pretty soon.

Greenie: It’s time to give proper credit to the Clippers. Not only are they the top seed in the West at the moment, but they are playing fantastic basketball. I know that looks weird, but it’s the truth which is why I am putting them in my top 4. It was close with MIL, but that loss to PHX has to penalize them just a little bit. I’m also going to continue to give credit to someone like PHI, who is winning close games with Jimmy Butler which is why they traded for him, so I would like credit for that please. I also think CHA deserves some credit, they are playing everyone tough of late it seems, and Kemba going nuts obviously means they should be bumped up a few spots. When it comes to the Celtics, I’m still dropping them because let’s be honest, they deserve it until further notice. I’m very close to putting ORL in my top 20 if they keep playing this well, and while the Kings honeymoon phase may be ending, I wanted to give them one more week in the top 20. Also look out for MIN, who if they keep things up post Butler, you could see them sneak into that range as well. My biggest question is probably MEM, because their offense is so bad, yet they keep winning, and at the end of the day it’s all about Ws in my opinion
